Annual Autism-advocacy.org Event
April 27,2006

This year's event was held at the CSIU in Montandon, PA.

Families of loved ones touched by autism along with educators and supportive community members joined us to show their support of this work and to support individuals with Autism Related Disorders.

The CSIU not only provided the location for this event, but also made a generous contribution in printing 4,000 copies of the Autism Resource Booklet by Susan Colón to help families and caregivers find out more about Autism Related Disorders and services available to assist them.

This year all families who attended received not only the Autism Resource Booklet, but they also received donated items such as car magnets, lapel pins and books on Autism sponsored through the generosity of local supporters.

Sponsor a book for Autism Education and Awareness
- A big thank you for the success of the sponsor a book effort. 32 books have been donated by the following, generous supporters of Autism-Advocacy,org:

Keystone Services, CSIU, Mark Lawrence, WKOK, Annette Kratzer, Penn State Cooperative Extension, Ann House, Kidswork, Doug & Margie Sturm, The Rooke Chapel Congregation, Brooks Publishing & Parent to Parent.  The books will be raffled off for free to parents and caregivers at the Autism Awareness Event.

A lending library has been created and each of the requested titles will be made available to anyone wishing to 'check them out' - please e-mail Susan to make arrangements to borrow the selected titles.  The lending library will ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to read the books which may help them to be better informed to help their children.

Thank you to the CSIU -
for offering me with a location, Julia Robinson for her unending assistance in all the worthwhile endeavors I undertake.

John Machella, Dr. Witten, Jan Salwocki, Karen Troutman, and many others for their assistance in the printing of the autism booklet, and in making on site arrangements.
